Ballast Regulators

These machines are used for profiling the ballast in the ‘4-foot’ and for the shoulders to achieve the desired ballast profile. Ballast is brushed level with the sleeper tops. The machine has a capability to store excess ballast removed from the track and drop it in areas where ballast is depleted. The machine can also profile embankments. Ballast Regulators are used for maintenance and renewals activities, generally working in conjunction with tamping machines. All Fastline’s Ballast Regulators are Plasser & Theurer USP 5000C.
