Track Renewal System
What do you want to achieve?

- Input reduction on conventional renewals?
- Higher output rate?
- Reduced number of possessions?
- Reduced possession times?
- Fewer engineering delivery trains?
- Decreased labour – less risk?
The Fastline TRS is a locomotive hauled train, offering the flexibility and capability to deliver and place steel or concrete sleepers, lift and remove/replace track panels and install long lengths of rail. The TRS consists of a series of flat wagons fitted with electrically powered cranes. Each wagon is fitted with 2 cranes capable of lifting in unison with the others in the train. Using a radio remote console, one crane operator is required to control the entire lift.
What can the TRS do?

- Deliver sleepers (bother steel and concrete) to a variable (if required) spacing and accuracy of +/- 6mm
- Recover single track panels up to 240mm in length and self-load and unload to or from a train on the adjacent track
- Deliver and recover rail
Associated Savings:

- Efficiency and Best Value – achieved through reduced number of possessions to achieve the required output, pre-possessions for delivery of steel sleepers and reduced number of engineering trains and labour used
- Risk Minimisation – substantial cost saving potential achieved through decreased labour and engineering train requirements
- Contingency Planning – increased ability to make up delays caused by other agents (e.g. delayed start, faults in other plant etc) without having to curtail the yardage or hand the site back late
- Increased Flexibility – achieved through ability to roster resources to jobs where TRS is not suitable and therefore increased opportunity for conventional renewals
